THE LITERACY PROFILE - THE FINAL PROJECT: ~ a case study of tutoring student with analysis and recommendations for further tutoring and instruction
You will be creating a case study of your tutoring student. We will call it The Literacy Profile. It will contain all the assessment data you collected in your first two tutoring sessions, but it will also contain an in-depth analysis of the student's reading. It will also contain a great deal of other material: student history, tutoring session information, and your recommendations for your student's parents and teachers.
The components of the Literacy Profile are listed in this document:
NOTE: KEEP EVERYTHING!! Try to keep copies and note everything you do during your tutoring sessions and in your actual assessment of the student. The more information you gather, the better the final project outcome. Weeding of the material can take place at a later date - just save save save and write everything down!!! Even if it doesn't seem significant at the time: keep track of conversations with your student's parents, teachers AND keep track of not only the planning for tutoring, but also your reasoning behind tutoring activity selections.
